NBA unveils logo for 2016 NBA All-Star game

The NBA released the logo for the 2016 All-Star game on Wednesday.

The NBA released the logo for the 2016 NBA All-Star game Wednesday, paying tribute to the CN Tower, the city’s “defining landmark.”

The logo features a stylized CN Tower, a tribute to the “tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere and the crown jewel of Toronto’s skyline.”

“The logo, designed in collaboration with the Raptors, integrates the CN Tower silhouette with the team’s red, white and black colours,” according to an NBA press release.

“Additional secondary logos include a signature NBA “star” logo inside a dynamic maple leaf and an All-Star toque logo, featuring a clawed star, which pays tribute to the popular accessory worn during Canada’s winter months.”

The announcement was made at a press conference in Toronto Wednesday afternoon with the NBA and city officials, as well as NBA Rookie of the Year, and Brampton native, Andrew Wiggins.
