DEVENS — American Superconductor Corp. said last week that it received a $15 million follow-on order from Inox Wind Limited of India.

American Superconductor is tasked with supplying wind-turbine electrical control systems sometime during 2015. The company said this is the seventh order it has received from Inox since May 2009.

“The effects of this most recent order from Inox are to extend our existing backlog and provide us greater visibility into fiscal 2015 revenues,” said Daniel P. McGahn, president and CEO at American Superconductor.

The company said its power electronics systems serve as the “brains” of the wind turbine and allow for reliable, high-performance operation.

Shares of AMSC closed Friday at $1.81, down 4 cents.
