Man tries to steal over $500 worth of electronics from Secaucus Best Buy, cops say

SECAUCUS -- A 39-year-old Bergen County man is accused of attempting to steal more than $500 worth of assorted electronics from Best Buy, police said.

The Fort Lee man was charged with shoplifting on Sunday at 7:22 p.m. after he tried to leave the store with $535.92 in electronics, according to police.

Police said a loss prevention associate stopped the man once he was nearing the exit of the store located at 925 Patterson Plank Road in Secaucus.

Secaucus police said that he was processed, released later and is now awaiting a court appearance.
