DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton firefighters were called to a familiar address Thursday morning.

A garage in the 100 block of S. Van Lear Street was burning. Firefighters put out a fire at the same garage on Tuesday. In that case, someone had also fired arrows into the structure.

District Chief Rennes Bowers says a barking dog alerted residents to the most recent fire just before 3 a.m.

When the family went to check on their beagle, Buddy, they saw flames coming from the garage.

Rennes said crews have responded to several other fires in the neighborhood over the last few days. He’s asking residents to keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

“I know the neighbors are extremely frustrated. We’re frustrated. We’re doing everything we can to apprehend the suspects,” Bowers said.

He added, “These guys always get caught.”
