A woman accused of illegally entering the Californian home of Lawrence Fernandez who she went on multiple dates with was arrested Sunday after firefighters used jackhammers to partially dismantle a brick chimney she had become trapped inside. Police responded to the home at 5:45 a.m. after a caller reported that the woman had been stuck in the chimney, about 8 feet from the top, for two hours, said Capt. Renee Ferguson of the Ventura County Sheriffís Department. The county Fire Departmentís urban search and rescue team was called to the scene. The flue was lubricated with dish soap before she was lifted out of the chimney, placed in a stokes basked and hoisted from the roof by a ladder truck, according to VCFD Capt. She was later identified as Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa, a 30-year-old Thousand Oaks resident, and arrested for allegedly illegally entering a residence and providing false information to a peace officer, the VCSD stated in a news release. A woman who got stuck in the chimney of a house of a man she met online was rescued by firefighters only to be arrested by police.

A fire team who responded to a call of a woman crying from a Ventura County, California, house found themselves having to chisel away at the chimney before lubricating the sides with washing up soap in order to free Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa, who was stuck inside.

But no sooner was the 30-year-old freed than she was arrested by police on suspicion of giving them false information and of illegally entering the home of a man she met online.

‘I’m going to be a little more cautious of who I invite into my house now,’ the man, who called himself Lawrence, told ABC 7 Los Angeles.

He added that the pair had gone on a ‘few’ dates but he had ended their relationship recently.

Ms Nunez-Figueroa’s family have offered to pay for the chimney and the roof, which were both badly damaged in the rescue.
