TEXAS CITY — Road construction crews broke a 2-inch natural gas main line in Texas City Tuesday afternoon that had a portion of the city under a shelter-in-place order for about two hours.

The ruptured line was on the 2200 block of 23rd Street, said Derek Duckett, Texas City’s emergency management coordinator. The line break happened at about 1:30 p.m.
