Hormel Foods Corp. (HRL) Sank To A 1-Month Low After Weak Q4 Report

Hormel Foods Corp. (HRL) reported fourth quarter EPS of $0.63 Tuesday morning, up from $0.58 in the prior year period. Analysts expected EPS of $0.64. Full year 2015 EPS is expected to be between $2.45 and $2.55, compared to the consensus estimate of $2.59.

Hormel Foods gapped open sharply lower Tuesday and declined during the first hour of trade. The stock slipped further going into the close and ended the day with a loss of 2.81 at $51.32 on the highest volume of the year. Hormel Foods sank to over a 1-month low and fell below its 50-day moving average.
