Earnings Expected to Increase for Kimberly Clark

Analysts expect higher profit for Kimberly Clark when the company reports its third quarter results on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. The consensus estimate is calling for profit of $1.54 a share, reflecting a rise from $1.44 per share a year ago.

Over the past three months, the consensus estimate has fallen from $1.56. For the fiscal year, analysts are expecting earnings of $6.09 per share. Revenue is projected to be $5.36 billion for the quarter, 2% above the year-earlier total of $5.26 billion. For the year, revenue is projected to roll in at $21.34 billion.

A year-over-year revenue growth in the second quarter broke a streak of two straight quarters of revenue decreases.

Over the last four quarters, the company has seen an average of 26% year-over-year growth in income. The biggest rise came in the fourth quarter, with income growing more than twofold from the year-ago quarter.

Kimberly Clark manufactures and markets a range of mostly paper-based consumer products. Procter & Gamble, also in the personal and household prods. industry, will report earnings on Friday, October 24, 2014. Analysts are expecting earnings of $1.09 per share for Procter & Gamble, up 4% from last year's earnings of $1.05 per share.
