CSX Corp. (CSX) Is Rising After Q1 Profit Exceeded Expectations

CSX Corp. (CSX) reported first quarter EPS of $0.45 after the close Tuesday, up from $0.40 in the previous year. Analysts expected EPS of $0.44. The company also announced that its Board of Directors has approved a 13% increase in the company's quarterly dividend to $0.18 per share. The board has also approved a new $2 billion share repurchase program. CSX is now up 0.81 on 693K shares.

CSX gapped open lower Tuesday, but recovered some ground in early trade and turned positive going into the close. The stock finished up by 0.13 at $33.21 on the highest volume 6 months.
