No action taken against Powys councillor after racist language

The former deputy leader of a county council who quit her position after using the "N word" during a public meeting will have no further action taken against her.

Councillor Myfanwy Alexander resigned from Powys County Council's cabinet after making the remark in a cabinet meeting on health service and provisions in July.

She said the Public Services Ombudsman has now written to say it will be taking no further action.

She said: "I feel that common sense has prevailed and that the ombudsman has taken into account that I apologised ."
