Chad Pennington was a Rhodes Scholar and gentleman, but the guy wearing his jersey while pummeling a Bills spectator at Sunday’s Jets game clearly was not.
An altercation caught on video broke out in the end zone seats at MetLife Stadium as the visiting Buffalo Bills were landing second-half body blows to the rival Jets.
The Bills fan was reportedly trash talking when the Jets enforcer in the throwback No. 10 jersey decided to stop the jawing with a shot to the jaw, according to video obtained by TMZ.
“The Bills fan had been shooting his mouth off before the fight and the Jets fans took exception,” a witness told TMZ.
Video shows the Gang Green hulk — who police identified as Christopher Fox, 34, from Peekskill, N.Y. — landing a right hook to the face that knocked the hat off a Bills fan, who then slumped forward into the next row, apparently unconscious.
TMZ said the victim was OK.
Fox was arrested and charged with simple assault by New Jersey state police, who said they also have surveillance video of the attack, NJ.com reported.
The Bills left MetLife with a 43-23 win.
And Jets fans showed more fight than the team on this day.
