Four People Injured At Macy's When Aerosol Can Explodes During Cooking Demo

Chicago fire official says can got to close to heat source causing it to explode, Chicago Tribune reports.

Four people were injured Friday morning when an aerosol can exploded in the basement of Macy’s Loop location, Chicago fire officials said.

The employees were gathered in the store’s basement at 111 State Street for a cooking demonstration and were preparing pancakes and eggs around 9:30 a.m., the Chicago Tribune reported.

“On the lower level, they were cooking, and apparently an aerosol can got a little too close to the heating element and it exploded,” Chicago Fire Department Field Chief Elliott Velez told the paper.
