Nicholas “Teo” Petronelli of West Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, a veteran and business owner, died Tuesday at his home. He was 87.

Born in 1927 in Milford, Mr. Petronelli was raised in Brockton.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Navy boxing team.

He started his career as a bricklayer and founded Petronelli Construction Inc. more than 60 years ago. He built many commercial properties and single-family homes throughout the region.

He enjoyed summering with his family at his Little Harbor, Wareham home, golfing, horses, boxing and traveling with his family.

Mr. Petronelli is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rita (Crowley); two sons, Nick of Wareham and Dan of West Bridgewater; a daughter, Marybeth of Raynham; two sisters, Lorraine Santoro and Eleanor Walsh; three brothers, Guido, Ronnie and Henry; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
