Goldman Sachs Group Inc., the top merger adviser in 2014, said investment-banking co-Chairman Gordon E. Dyal will leave after 16 years at the firm.

Dyal, 53, ran the merger business for seven years before taking his current role, which he shares with Christopher Cole and Alex Dibelius, both 55. He’s a member of the management committee, Goldman Sachs said Monday in a memo from Chief Executive Officer Lloyd C. Blankfein and President Gary D. Cohn.
