FACCIA LUNA PIZZERIA, 1229 S. Atherton St., 814-234-9000

Liberty P.

- Pizzas are simple. Vegetables are fresh. The crust is Italian genuine. The sauce is made the way it has to be. Visitors from other countries will be pleased.

Alexandra S.

- There are numerous pizza options in State College, but only 3 of them ate good. This one has the quality if good and more interesting ingredients, variety and even gluten free options. Good for dining in and taking out. Other items on the menu are also good.

HERWIG'S AUSTRIAN BISTRO,

132 W College Ave., 814-272-0738

Cindy L.

- "This place was so unique. I came here once when I was in State College, but I wish I went at least one more time before I graduated. If you don't like Austrian flavors then you won't like it. However, I loved it a lot. The theme of the restaurant is consistent. They have these strict rules for the customers and it's pretty funny. If you don't get sarcasm then you might not think it's funny. Go for the experience and the hearty meal."

Todd B.

- "I chose Herwig's on my recent trip to State College, and it was a perfect and memorable choice for my visit. Don't come here with high expectations of being treated nicely or attentive service. It is none of those things. It is a unique and fun experience where the food also is outstanding. This is not just your run of the mill German style restaurant -- the food options are as varied and true to Austrian and German food culture that one can find in the US ... "

ORIGINAL WAFFLE SHOP, 1610 W. College Ae., 814-235-1816 and 1229 N. Atherton St., 814-238-7460

Kristyna Z

- "There is not a single thing I could complain about. The food is delicious and inexpensive. Wait time, even when there is a line, isn't bad at all. I recommend the blueberry muffin, sliced and grilled.

This place is a must when in State College. If you haven't experienced the Waffle Shop, your visit is incomplete. Cash only."

Allison B.

- "Always the best. ALWAYS. In college we always had to wait forever because we rolled up hungover and sleep at 11AM. Now that I'm an "adult," we pop in around 9AM (pre-church crowd) and the wait's only about 15 minutes. My order? "Healthy" omelet + cheese (so not that healthy), hash browns (extra crispy) and a pancake (you can get it instead of toast, so why not?). They get you in, they get you out. Cash only, leave your tips on the table."

BIG BOWL NOODLE HOUSE, 418 E. College Ave., 814-308-9026

Jessie H. - "BEST CHINESE FOOD IN STATE COLLEGE!!! I came here ALL the time when I went to school here. Located downtown right next to mcclanahan's. DELICIOUS!!! There's usually a small line and once you order they give you a number. I used to eat there and get take out all the time. All of the dishes are a good choice. I also get a bubble tea (strawberry)- It tastes more like strawberry juice which I like vs. a smoothie ... "

Alex B.

-  "The noodles were in a league of their own (which is assuring considering "Noodle House" is in the title). They gave me a heap of rice noodles and I covered half of my noodles with sriracha and the other half with this home made pepper sauce that was sitting at the condiment table. Yeah, there was some Chinese voodoo in that sauce- after one bite my nose was running. I like to think that sauce is some secret family recipe that's been passed down since the Han dynasty. ( That's a legit dynasty according to Wikipedia)"

LITTLE SZECHUAN228 W. College Ave., 814-308-9906

Ryan M.

- "Ordered from here twice now and excellent. The pork dumplings in hot chile oil are amazing. Big meaty dumplings with fresh scallions and sesame not too spicy but some heat. Also got chicken chile hot pot this time and curry lamb last time. Both excellent and saucy. I like spicy and they both hit the spot. Fresh ingredients and garlic and herbs and not just white meat chicken pre-cut. Seems like slow cooked marinated meat.

Hunter C. - "If you like spicy food and you like authentic Chinese food, then this is the place to be. Be sure to order something you've never tried, don't come here and order Chicken & broccoli if you know what I mean, because you can simply order that from other take out places. I usually get the fish and lamb dishes and trust me, you won't regret it."
