Richmond Dale library holds annual egg hunt

The Richmond Dale Branch Library will hold its annual Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. tomorrow. This year, there will be a special guest, the Easter bunny. Children 10-years-old and under are invited to hunt eggs and have their picture taken with the Easter bunny. Registration is not required. Children should bring a basket or container for their eggs.

•Teens can learn about letter boxing at 4 p.m. Monday at the Northside Branch Library. During this class teens will make their own stamp, find boxes and learn how to make their own boxes. Brenda Arledge will speak on letter boxing experiences all over the world. To register for the event, visit www.crcpl.org.

•An introduction to eBooks and more class will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the computer lab at the Northside Branch Library. Attendees should bring their own device. Learn how to check out free eBooks from the library and about Freegal and Hoopla, two library databases that allow you to download music, movies and audiobooks. Space is limited. • Local authors to hold book discussions in conjunction with National Library Week, which is April 12 through 18. The library has several author nights planned to celebrate.

Local author Saundra Akers will discuss her books at 6 p.m. April 13 at the Paxton Branch Library in Bainbridge. A meet and greet will follow the discussion.

Michael E. Cook will discuss the writing and publishing process of his new book at 6:30 p.m. the same evening at the South Salem Branch Library. His new book is a western adventure book titled “A Killer for the Common Good, Book 1” from the Sean O’Rourke Series.

• Literacy Night with author Will Hillenbrand will be held at 6 p.m. April 16 at the Main Library Annex. The library, in conjunction with the Early Learning Center of Ohio University-Chillicothe and Ross County United Way will host the children’s author as he shares his process for writing and illustrating books. Then kids can enjoy literacy-based games and activities. Registration is not required.

• The Friends of the Chillicothe and Ross County Book Sale will be held April 22 through April 25. For hours and more details, call or stop by any of the library locations. A reminder will be included in the column next week.

•April is the month to re-enroll or register for Kroger Community Rewards. If you are a member and your rewards go to the library, simply re-enroll. If you are a Kroger shopper and you are not enrolled, consider taking this step toward earning rewards for your library. • Patrons have the opportunity to reduce their library fines through the Feed to Read program. During National Library Week, April 12 through 18 (National Library Week), you can bring non-perishable food items to any library location and $2 will be ducted for each item (up to $10) from your fine balance. This offer applies to overdue fines, but does not apply to collection fees or charges for damaged or lost items. Food must not be opened or expired. All food will go to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry.
