Vera D. Spievak, 91; Stamford Native, Raytheon Retiree

Vera D. Spievak passed away on November 20, 2014.

She was born in Stamford on August 4, 1923, the daughter of the late Dmitro and Mary Krenicky.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of sixty years, Henry V. Spievak, her two brothers Joseph and Andrew Krenicky, and a sister Joan Davis. She graduated from Stamford High School, then attended Traphagen School in New York City.

When World War II Started, She went to work at Machlett Laboratories, which later became Raytheon, where she worked for thirty-eight years. She and her husband liked to travel, and she loved to tend to her garden and the birds and other creatures in it. She is survived by her beloved daughter Joan Spievak, and her loving dog Keiko.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Vladimir’s Cathedral 24 Wenzel Terrace, Stamford on Tuesday, November 25, at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Vera and Henry Spievak may be made to St. Vladimir’s Cathedral.
