Star Wars: Exclusive Boba Fett and Darth Vader Figures from JAKKS for SDCC 2015
Toy News International has an exclusive first look at two Star Wars figures that will only be available at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, which starts in roughly two weeks. Both Darth Vader and Boba Fett will be part of the JAKKS Pacific toy line being represented at SDCC, and are exclusive to the Con.
Star Wars Darth Vader Action Figure:
This figure is absolutely stunning and a must have for any Star Wars memorabilia collector. The hologram Vader is even as terrifying to the Imperial Officers, as he was in person…because of the Force choking through the communication feed. The detail is spectacular for a figure that is basically translucent. From the chain that holds his cape around his shoulders and back, to the way his hands are being held at varying degrees of wrath and frustration at the incompetence of the Empire’s forces, all the way to the lightsaber hanging at his hip.

Star Wars First Appearance Boba Fett:
If Vader’s translucent detail was amazing, then Boba’s is incredible. Apparently this is actually a figure of the first time Boba Fett was seen in public. He marched in a State Fair parade with Darth Vader, waving at all the children. Notice the metallic detail on the gloves, the different colored vambraces on the arms, and the iconic Boba Fett helmet, appropriately scarred from many battles.
Of note: the braids on his right side, draped over his chest, do not seem like the usual trophies he carries to memorialize a kill, much like the practice Mandalorians adhere to. They strike me as official military commendation braids. Are we seeing the armor of an older Boba Fett? A Boba Fett who escaped the Sarlacc Pit and found himself on the war torn and desolate planet of Jakku from Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Could the rumors of Max von Sidow portraying a wizened and secretly in hiding Boba Fett be true?
"Boba Fett, Legendary Mandalorian Bounty Hunter has a long and colorful history. While many fans remember him from The Empire Strikes Back as well as his animate debut in The Star Wars Holiday Special, his true first appearance was as a member of the Star Wars delegation in the San Anselmo County Fair on September 24, 1978! At the time, Lucasfilm was headquartered at 52 Park Way in San Anselmo, about twenty minutes north of San Francisco. As part of harvest parade, Darth Vader and for the first time in public, Boba Fett, marched throughout the street waving to fans of all ages. The armor was worn by assistant film editor Duwayne Dunham and featured several noticeable difference such as the brightly colored blue jump suit, yellow and red armor highlights, as well as the “tribal marks” on his helmet; all altered for his later film appearances. Both these figures display awe-inspiring detail, and are masterfully crafted. It’s a shame I won’t be attending this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, because I would have purchased both the amazing figures. TNI does note that JAKKS will also be holding a Collector Fan Panel at SDCC, featuring a preview of upcoming product from across their portfolio. This will include all of their BIG FIGs lines in 20” — 31” — Massive and 48” Colossal scales as well as the World of Nintendo and Warcraft master toy lines.
