A proprietor of a firm was arrested by the MIDC police on Saturday for selling pirated copies of Hewlett-Packard (HP) products. The accused, Prabhu Dugaria, is also an authorised dealer for popular e-commerce companies.
Dugaria's establishment at Annex building in Andheri East was raided by the police along with EIPR, an investigation agency specializing in anti-counterfeiting solutions, around 3.30 pm.
“During the raid, the police came across 12 pirated HP toner cartridges,” said senior inspector Rajaram Mandge of MIDC police.
EIPR staffers said they found packaging material used for products of e-commerce companies in the establishment. Dugaria runs King's Enterprises.
