Rajasthan:  CBI will probe alleged graft surrounding ambulance services
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday agreed to an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation into financial irregularities by the previous Congress-led state government regarding the allotment of emergency ambulance services to a private company named Ziqitza Health Care Limited. Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot, state Congress chief Sachin Pilot and several other party leaders have been accused in the case, filed earlier this year. It has been alleged that Ziqitza has been overpaid by Rs 2.56 crore for its services.

Haryana: Manohar Lal Khattar is reportedly the front runner to become Haryana CM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's close aide and long-serving Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh member, Manohar Lal Khattar, is set to become Haryana's next chief minister, according to The Times of India. Despite being a first-time legislator, Khattar has been viewed by the senior Bharatiya Janata Party leadership as a person with a clean image. The BJP has also been pushing for a non-Jat as chief minister, considering that the party received significant support from non-Jat voters. Khattar fits the bill, said senior party leaders.

Delhi: Court hands down life sentence for five accuse in Dhaula Kuan gangrape case
A fast-track court in the national capital on Monday sentenced five persons to life imprisonment for the abduction and gangrape of a 30-year-old call-center employee near Dhaula Kuan in 2010. Additional Sessions Judge Virender Bhat also slapped the five accused with a fine of Rs 50,000 each, besides a life-term jail sentence.

Jammu and Kashmir: 500-700 companies of armed forces required to conduct polls
After consultations between the Election Commission and top security and government officials of Jammu and Kashmir, it has been decided that 500-700 companies of paramilitary forces will be required to conduct assembly polls in the state, according to The New Indian Express. The final dates for the elections are yet to be announced, though reports suggest that it could occur anytime between late November and early December.

Manipur: CM promises 24 hour-power supply for greater Imphal area
Manipur Chief Minister Ibobi Singh on Monday said that his government will provide electricity round--the-clock to the Greater Imphal area by March, and will extend the service to the two Valley districts of Bishnupur and Thoubal later next year. Singh claimed that his government has been continuously improving the power infrastructure in the state. Power cuts in the state came to national attention earlier this year when Imphal witnessed a total blackout during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony.
