Independence Day Celebrations in the Carson City Area

Fourth of July celebrations abound in the Carson City area. Fireworks can be found in Carson City, Reno, Sparks, and at both north and south shore of Lake Tahoe. There are several daytime events going on as well, so grab the kids, friends, and family and have a great Independence Day weekend!

Friday, July 3:
July Third Fireworks and Beach Party at the North Tahoe Events Center on Kings Beach, North Lake Tahoe (4pm-10pm, free; vendors, contests, games, music and more; Fireworks 9:30pm; FRIDAY)

Carson City:
Fourth of July Weekend Celebration at the Nevada State Railroad Museum (Parade of trains daily 9am-10am; Train Rides 10am-4pm; Unlimited Ride wristband $15, $5 kids; Silent Auction Saturday; Event runs Friday through Sunday)

Fourth of July Virginia and Truckee Round-trip Steam Train Ride: leave from Carson City Eastgate Depot on Flint Drive, off U.S. Highway 50 East at 10am and Depart Virginia City Depot at 3pm (tickets limited, $52, seniors and veterans $48, kids 3-16 $32; Trains run Friday-Sunday)

Downtown Business Association's Monthly Wine Walk: sign up at Bella Fiore Wines, the Carson Nugget, Cactus Jacks, Carson Jewelry and Loan, Remedy's Bar, or Touched By Angels (1pm-5pm; $10; Saturday)

4th Annual Fourth of July Festival: Music, Kid’s Bike Parade, Free Food and more in Minden Park, Downtown Minden (10am- 2pm, free; Saturday)

Fourth of July on the Comstock, Virginia City (Parade 12pm; Comstock Cowboys 2nd Amendment Concert in the Delta Parking Lot 6pm-9pm; Fireworks Spectacular at Miners Park after Dark; Saturday). Echoing off Mt. Davidson at 6,200 feet elevation, the “kaboom” rocks the old 1850s historic mining community as the fireworks soar high above the town and Six Mile Canyon, making it visible from nearly anywhere in town.
The Saturday, July 4, Virginia City Fourth of July Celebration presented by Comstock Mining Inc. starts at noon with the Fourth of July Parade and continues throughout the day. Go here for the event lineup.
