The Allentown-based company, which had 2013 revenue of $12 billion, created a free investor relations app for iPhone, iPad and Android mobile devices, according to a news release.

The app will give access to the company’s news releases and federal Securities and Exchange Commission filings, as well as webcasts and other items of interest, according to the release. Investors can set the app to give a notification any time new information is posted.

“Recognizing the growing importance of mobile technology to all investors, PPL launched this app to provide our current and future shareowners with instant access to our corporate and stock information,” said Joe Bergstein, vice president of investor relations for PPL. “We are excited to be one of the utility sector’s early adopters of mobile technology that creates broader awareness throughout the investment community.”

The project is a collaboration between PPL, PR Newswire and theIRapp.

PPL, whose PPL Electric Utilities serves portions of Cumberland, Perry, Dauphin, York, Lancaster and Lebanon counties, trades its shares on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker PPL.
