Guess who's back on The Block! Deanne and Darren Jolly join two other couples from reality show as familiar faces hope for 'a happier ending'

Their first experience on a reality show was on The Block: Glasshouse - and it didn't end well.

But losing Blockheads Deanne and Darren Jolly, who netted just $10,000 in prize money after three months' hard slog last series, are set to return to the renovation show for another crack at some cash.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, Deanne said 'We kind of gathered ourselves and thought. "Let's have another crack", and this time hopefully have a more happier ending.'

The new incarnation of show will feature three couples competing for one spot reserved for returning contestants.

Dee and Darren will be up against Bec and George Douros who competed in the South Melbourne series in 2013 and Matt Di Costa and Kim Owen from The Block: Sky High.

Auction day on The Block: Glasshouse last season ended with a bitter behind-the-scenes breakdown that saw Dee threatening to steal artworks and 'raid' the winning apartments.

The sale of Deanne's apartment for $1.38m - just $10,000 above the reserve of $1.37m- saw the renovator return to the holding room in tears, after reportedly snubbing the auctioneer.

Melbourne contestant Deanne told the shocked cast, 'I'm going to take the f*****g Bromley's [artworks]. It's a bad tale all round'

Speaking on the show, Deanne said without prize-money to reward their efforts, it 'would be stupid to do The Block under these conditions and in this time frame'.

Despite the disappointing results last season, the 42 year-old mum of two is now ready for another attempt and will again compete with her former AFL player husband, 33 year-old Darren Jolly.

Facing an uncertain future: Deanne struggled to come to terms with the results after five months of work

  •  Tied the knot in April this year

Bec and George Douros

Fellow contestant Maxine Stokes, 24, was also upset by the finale, finishing with a disappointing prize of just $40,000 - for months of full-time hard work with new husband Karstan, who she married on the show.

Auction day saw her burst into tears before snapping at producers, 'Me crying will probably get you all another Gold Logie'.

But there's no word on whether the newlyweds will join Dee and Darren on The Block: Triple Threat.

'It’s an expensive exercise to take the risk to go on that show. It’s really not a great scenario.'

Kim Owen and Matt Di Costa competed on The Block last year.

They ranked third during their appearance on the renovation reality show, making a $250,000 profit on their house which sold for $1.455 million at the auction.

It was twins Alisa and Lysandra who stole the limelight during that season, making a $295,000 profit on their $1.435 million selling property.

Kim and Matt, who tied the knot in April, were thrilled to work with Channel Nine once again earlier this year, turning their love for design into their own renovation show.

Exploring problems associated with many different locations across a city, the couple endeavoured to correct them through their skills of design.

With the show aptly named 'Matt and Kim to the Rescue', the pair are excited to be the first Block couple to officially land their own show.

Meanwhile Bec and George Douros based in Melbourne, have also been following their passion for design since appearing on the show last year.

Running her own interior design blog Bec Marks The Spot, the blonde beauty and her dark-haired husband keep fans updated on their adventures via social media.

The pair's return to the show comes after Bec's personal tragedy during filming last year when her mother Rosa passed away after losing her battle with breast cancer.
