Raleigh police are investigating a shooting in the parking lot of a Wendy's restaurant.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police are investigating a shooting in the parking lot of a Wendy's restaurant.

The incident was reported just after 10:30 a.m. Friday at 3715 Western Boulevard, near Gorman Street and North Carolina State University's campus.

According to Raleigh police, 38-year-old Ali Salam had arranged a meeting to buy a cell phone in the parking lot of Wendy's, when two suspects showed up, and one of them had a handgun.

A struggle ensued, and the firearm went off. Salam sustained a superficial wound to his head, and the suspects fled in an early 2000s model gray Honda Accord last seen on Carlton Avenue.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
