IIJ Q1 Profit Down, Revenue Up - Quick Facts

Internet Initiative Japan Inc. or IIJ (IIJI) said first-quarter profit declined from the prior year, amid higher revenues and increased costs.

Net income attributable to the company declined to 491 million yen from 954 million yen in the prior.

Total revenues grew to 27.552 billion yen from 26.441 billion yen in the prior year.

Total costs climbed to 22.555 billion yen from 21.411billion yen last year.

"While we don't anticipate 1H14 financial results to be strong, we believe our business investment should enhance revenue accumulation in 2H14 and thereafter," Eijiro Katsu, COO and President of IIJ, said.
