Regal Entertainment Group (RGC) Is Climbing On Possible Sale

Regal Entertainment Group (RGC) reported third quarter adjusted EPS of $0.18 after the bell Monday, down from $0.38 in the previous year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.17.

Regal's Board of Directors also declared both a quarterly cash dividend of $0.22 and a special cash dividend of $1.00 per Class A and Class B common share. The Company also announced that its Board of Directors has authorized the exploration of strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value, including a potential sale of the Company.

Regal Entertainment Group climbed until mid-morning Monday, before settling into a range. Shares finished with a gain of 0.31 at $20.51 and set over a 1-month high. The stock is now up 2.64 on 879K shares after the close.
