WARSAW, Poland, April 24 (UPI) -- Polish Foreign Minister Grzegorz Schetyna said Mattel Inc. has been asked to alter a game piece regarded as offensive for the use of the phrase "Nazi Poland."
He said the Polish Embassy in Washington has asked Mattel, based in El Segundo, Calif., to withdraw and correct the general knowledge game "Apples to Apples," in which an information card refers to the film Schindler's List as a "1993 Steven Spielberg film. Powerful, real-life story of a Catholic businessman who eventually saved over 1,000 Jews in Nazi Poland."
