For the Pittsburgh Steelers, one item on the “to-do list” during the off-season is in the books as the 2015 National Football League Scouting Combine ended Monday.

The event was held from Feb. 17 – 23 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. There were more than 300 of the best college football players present to be evaluated for the upcoming NFL Draft.
Coming up quickly, for the Black and Gold, is Monday, March 2 which is the deadline to designate franchise or transition players. They will need to make a decision if they want to tag linebacker Jason Worilds for the second year in a row.
Worilds contributed 41 tackles and 7.5 sacks to the Steel Curtain in 2014. Tagging him would increase his value by 20 percent.
One alternative for the Black and Gold could become available with the official start of the NFL free agency on Tuesday, March 10. The Cleveland Browns’ Jaball Sheard could be a possible replacement. The former University of Pittsburgh Panther linebacker has 23 career sacks in five seasons. He had two sacks and 44 tackles in 2014.
