Sergio Ramos has warned Real Madrid against resting on their laurels, following his side’s 3-1 triumph over Barcelona at the weekend.

Los Blancos, who fell behind to an early Neymar strike at the Santiago Bernabeu, came out victorious from El Clasico, courtesy of goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe and Karim Benzema.

Despite the loss, Barcelona remained top of La Liga with 22 points from nine games, a point and two places ahead of Real Madrid.

And Ramos, who was thoroughly pleased with his side’s display against their arch-rivals, however urged Real Madrid not to become complacent, following Saturday’s victory.

"When you play as consummately as we did in the Clasico, you enjoy it all the more", the Spaniard told Spanish daily Marca.

"Still, we mustn't let it get to our heads.

"We did a very good job, but we have to keep it up; they're still a point ahead of us."

Real Madrid, who have won their last nine games in all competitions, will next face Cornella in the Copa del Rey tomorrow before locking horns with Granada in a league game on Saturday.
