Revlon Creative Director Gucci Westman enhanced Marchesa’s Prohibition-era glam gowns with decadent makeup: “This look was all about a cool modern take on “Old Hollywood” glam.
Taking inspiration from New York’s Great Gatsby era, I wanted to create a more youthful interpretation and make the girl appear as though she had been dancing all night,” she explained.
Copy the subtle copper eye by sweeping Revlon ColorStay ShadowLinks in Java, €3.99, (available from April) all over the lids.
Two coats of Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara, €14.79, gave lashes a dramatic boost while Revlon Brow Fantasy, €7.99, defined arches.
The real focus of the look is a bold lip courtesy of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry, €10.69.
A dab of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Snow Pink, €9.69, made model pouts look extra-plumped.
For a healthy complexion, Gucci warmed the cheeks with Revlon Cream Blush in Charmed, €10.99, and applied Revlon PhotoReady SkinLights, €17.99, to create an even, luminous finish on the face and décolleté.
Picking up on the modern glam vibe and complimenting the lips, nails were filed in a natural oval shape and painted blood red with Revlon Nail Enamel in Vixen, €8.99.
“These girls are refined beauties with a refined edge,” said Topshop Beauty Consultant Hannah Murray.
“Think Stella Tennant in the Highlands of Scotland — of good stock but inherently cool with fresh skin, freckles, handsome eyebrows and wind-burnt lips.”
She began with Topshop The Airbrush Primer, €15, a light veil of Topshop The Foundation, €19, and camouflage from Topshop The Concealer Palette, €15, wherever needed. A dab of Topshop Brightener, €10, under the eyes perfected the sheer base.
Brows were thickened using a combination of Topshop Eyebrow Pencil, €9, and Topshop Brow Palette in Whatever or Fetch, €15, running the wand through the wax of the latter and applying upwards and outwards for separation.
For a naturally vibrant lip, Hannah applied Topshop Cheek Jelly in Museum, €10, and then blotted with tissue before re-applying and blotting again. A wash of Topshop Lips in Mink, €11, finished the look.
Museum was also applied to the apples of the cheeks and buffed in well. Mink was blended over this colour to create depth and a dot of Lip Bullet in Joyride, €11, blended in the centre gave a matte flush. Touches of Topshop Freckle Pencil, €7, enhanced the youthful appeal overall.
Benefit’s Lisa Potter-Dixon gave models a great graphic eye and golden skin to compliment Matthew Williamson’s boho-luxe collection. The artist primed the face with a blend of moisturiser and Benefit Girl Meets Pearl, €35.
Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow! Foundation, €31.50, and touches of Boi-ing Concealer, €21.60, created an even complexion. Boi-ing was also used as a base for the eyes, swept all over the lids with a blending brush.
Lisa used Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer, €30.60, and an angled shadow brush to map out the graphic line and then went over it with Benefit Longwear Powder Shadow, €22.50, in Kiss Me, I’m Tipsy. She blended both lines with a cotton bud for a softer, smoky effect.
Benefit BADgal Waterproof Liner, €21.50, on the upper and lower lash-lines and lashings of Benefit They’re Real Mascara, €23.40, added drama. Lisa fanned the outer lashes by turning the wand vertical. Yet more concealer was mixed with Benefit Hydra-Smooth Lip Colour Air Kiss, €22, and patted over the lips.
The face was contoured with bronzer and highlighted (everywhere natural light hits), with Longwear Powder Shadow in Gilt-y Pleasure.
