PORTSMOUTH – On Feb. 25, 2015, Anthony Graziano, 77, joined his savior, Jesus Christ, after a long battle with cancer.

Anthony was the older of two children born to Antonio and Carmela (Saggese) Graziano in Boston, Mass. He was a 1954 graduate of Boston College High School where he was a standout student athlete before deciding to attend the College of the Holy Cross on a football scholarship.

In 1958, Anthony married the love of his life, Marilyn (Carino), and after several years in the U.S. Air Force, they settled with their family in East Boston, Mass. In 1963, he joined the General Mills Company in the consumer sales division where he won many awards and promotions during his 32-year career before retiring as the Manager of Field Sales for the NE/NNY Region.

In 1990, he founded Anthony’s Food Shop in York, Maine, which he started as a small deli and pizza shop and grew into a well-known stop for food, coffee and friendship for locals and travelers.

Anthony was pre-deceased by his wife, Marilyn, and his brother, Robert.

He is survived by his children, Mark Graziano and Lori Putney of York, Maine; Nancy and Brian Park of Portsmouth, and Stephen and Lisa Graziano of York, Maine. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and friend, Matthew Carino, and his wife, Cathy, of Abington, Mass. Papa Tony will always be remembered lovingly by his grandchildren, Daniel Graziano, Emily Graziano, Krystal Putney, Brianna Graziano, Matthew Graziano, Christina Park, Annie Graziano and Joseph Graziano.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad Street, Portsmouth, N.H. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at St. James Church of Corpus Christi Parish, 2075 Lafayette Road, Portsmouth, N.H.
