AK Steel Holding Q3 Loss Shrinks, Adj. EPS Beats View - Quick Facts

AK Steel Holding Corp. (AKS) Tuesday reported third-quarter net loss of $7.2 million or $0.05 per share, which narrowed from $31.7 million or $0.23 per share loss, last year.

Excluding acquisition-related expenses, the company posted a profit of $16.4 million or $0.12 per share.

On average, 16 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect the company to report profit per share of $0.09 for the period. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Quarterly net sales were $1.59 billion, higher than $1.33 billion a year ago. Analysts had projected sales of $1.49 billion for the period.
