Weis to Open Beer Cafe at Upper Gwynedd Store

A 30-seat cafe that serves beer is slated to open at the Weis store on Valley Forge Road.

Weis Markets will be adding a café that sells beer to its store on Valley Forge Road, according to reports.

Weis has received approval from Upper Gwynedd Township to remodel the store in order to open the café, which will seat about 30 people, according to The Reporter.

In addition to beer, the cafe will serve food. There will be a two-beer limit for consumption at the café, Weis representatives said, according to The Reporter.

There is a growing trend of supermarkets serving beer at in-house cafes throughout Eastern Pennsylvania.

In July, Weis opened a beer café at its Doylestown store on Old Dublin Pike. There is also a beer café in the chain’s East Norriton and Conshohocken store.
