LAWRENCE, Kan. — Shortly after 6:00 Monday morning officers and medical personnel were dispatched to the parking lot of McDonalds, 1309 West 6th Street, following a 911 call reporting an individual outside the restaurant was bleeding.  First responders treated the victim and transported him to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where he later died.  The victim is a male in his forties.  No arrests have been made in this investigation.

The crime is being investigated as a homicide, based on the nature of the injuries to the victim.  At this time, investigators believe the crime occurred at or near a home in the 700 block of Arkansas Street. Crime scene investigators will be working in that area throughout the day.

 Anyone with information is asked to call the Lawrence Police Department at 785-832-7509 or CrimeStoppers at 785-843-TIPS(8477).  Calls made to CrimeStoppers can be made anonymously.  A reward of up to $1000 is being offered by CrimeStoppers for information leading to an arrest in this case.
