Panaji: All India Football Federation (AIFF) general secretary Kushal Das has stepped in to allay fears that they were ignoring the Goa Football Association (GFA). In an interview with TOI, Das clears the air after GFA were forced to convene an emergency executive committee meeting on Wednesday.
Excerpts....
The GFA has claimed parents in Goa are left to wonder if their children will get a chance to be part of the India squad for under-17 World Cup since trials have been held all around the country, except Goa.

That decision has been left entirely to our under-17 coach Nicolai Adam. He will fix the date for the trials. The other reason could be that Nicolai is based in Goa and can see most of the matches that are being played. I am not sure if he wants specific trials. It is for the coach to decide, not AIFF.
The AIFF signed a MoU with SAG and GFA for installation of the second artificial turf at Fatorda (outside ground). Now, the GFA has claimed, the AIFF has entered into another “agreement” with the SAG, while leaving GFA out.
I think there is unnecessary politics between the SAG and GFA. The ground belongs to the SAG. We have entered into an agreement with them for usage of the dormitories at Fatorda which will be used for the under-17 academy.

The GFA cannot even use the artificial turf ground to select probables for the under-17 World Cup?
We will sort that out with the GFA. I don’t see any problem with that. As far as the usage of the artificial turf ground is concerned, the AIFF has the first right of refusal.
Goa has not been declared champions of the Coca Cola Sub-Junior National Football Championship despite Jharkhand being stripped of the title for fielding overage players. Why is that?
We had a competitions committee meeting and it was unanimously felt that Goa cannot be declared as champions because there were other teams who played Jharkhand earlier in the tournament. There are no provisions in the regulations to hand over the title to Goa, just because they lost to Jharkhand in the final. Why should other teams suffer?
The AIFF has included the Federation Cup in the calendar for 2015-16 season despite announcing that the tournament is being kept on hold for a couple of years.
The calendar was sent much earlier to state associations. We will send a revised calendar soon. The Fed Cup has been discontinued.
