WRAPPED UP: Ashya King leaves hospital in Prague yesterday after his brain tumour treatment [GETTY]

He completed 30 days of proton beam therapy in the Czech Republic capital Prague.

And wearing a hat and clutching a toy car, the five-year-old received a message of hope from doctors.

Iva Tatounova, director of the Proton Therapy Centre, said: “While he is not fully recovered, he has responded very well and there is no reason that he will not continue to get stronger.”

Ashya’s treatment finished almost two months after his desperate parents Brett, 51, and Naghmeh, 45, took him out of Britain in a bid to save his life.

They triggered an international hunt after pulling him out of Southampton General Hospital before authorities caught up with the family in Spain.

Yesterday they said they still do not feel “safe” enough to return to the UK.

Brett said: “We decided that perhaps it was best to return to Spain.

"At the moment we don’t feel 100% safe. We wouldn’t want to lose Ashya.”

The NHS had refused to fund the treatment in Prague, but later reversed the decision.
