HYDERABAD: The body of a pre-mature baby girl was found dumped in a suburban area of Tando Allahyar district in Sindh on Saturday.

Initially, the media had reported the presence of five bodies of newborn babies. However, police investigation and hospital sources later confirmed that only one infant was recovered from the area.

Talking to The Express Tribune, A-Section Police Station SHO Afzal Magsi confirmed the report and said that an FIR was lodged against unidentified suspects on a police complaint.

Deputy Commissioner Rasheed Zardari said a police committee, headed by SHO Magsi, has been formed to investigate the case and also to submit a report on the illegal practice of abortion in the district’s private hospitals.
