Syracuse, N.Y. — Destiny USA's Quiksilver location has closed.

The chain sold surf and snowboard apparel, outerwear and accessories. The store was on the second level of Destiny's expansion section near the Canyon.

Quiksilver opened at Destiny in 2012. It was one of the first tenants announced for the mall's expansion, which opened in 2011.

Another retailer focused on surfing and snowboarding opened last year at the mall. BC Surf & Sport is located on the first level of Destiny's older section.

In addition to Quiksilver, Destiny's Deb store will close soon. The chain is going out of business and all its locations are running liquidation sales.

Great American Cookie has closed its two locations at Destiny as well.

Retailers often announce closings and other cutbacks during the first quarter as they assess their performance from the prior year so it's possible Destiny could see a few more stores shut down in the near future.

The mall continues to attract new tenants as well. Arts and crafts chain Michaels, Jared The Galleria of Jewelry, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville and Nordstrom Rack are all scheduled to open this year.
