Video Premiere: Dwayne Shivers – “Raised By My Brothers”

Micah Dalton has long been an innovator in the Atlanta music scene, having performed as a solo artist for years and launched the monthly collaborative cover song project, the ATL Collective, to much success. His latest project, Dwayne Shivers, is a bluesier collaboration with Colin Agnew, Rick Lollar, and Robby Handley. In his latest video, a live take on the track “Raised By My Brothers,” Dalton and friends show off the new sound.

“It’s one of the few songs that I’ve written out of what felt like necessity,” he says. “I think that’s why the song feels more communal and exposing.”

The video was shot in Atlanta’s Grant Park by Andrew Kornylak and Josh Fowler.

“This song is about a time in my life where I needed to be emotionally ‘carried to the finish line,’ so to speak, by an unassuming group of friends who had different life paths but the same kinds of pain,” Dalton says. “It’s mile marker from that time: a time where these were some of the few people in my life who wouldn’t let me escape myself and face the forces that were driving me into chaos.”
