Baidu Teams Up With Cogobuy For Intelligent Hardware

This article is more than 8 years old.

Chinese search leader Baidu has reached a “strategic cooperation agreement” with Hong Kong-listed online electronics sourcing business Cogobuy Group to develop intelligent hardware ecosystem resource services, Cogobuy said in a statement today.

The agreement, signed yesterday, covers among other things supply chain support,  exploration of prospects for the development of the Internet of Things, cloud services and support for “small and medium IoT enterprise start-ups.”

Cogobuy sells microchips, amplifiers, switches and other components.  Available brands include Broadcom, Panasonic and SanDisk.

“Escalating on Baidu’s resources in areas such as healthcare, education and cloud computing, it is expected that (Cogobuy) with its ‘INGDAN.com platform’ and ‘IngDan Experience Center’ will join the IoT Industry Alliance to jointly establish an intelligent hardware ecosystem,” Cogobuy said in a statement.

Baidu’s billionaire CEO Robin Li is one of China’s wealthiest people. Cogobuy’s chairman Jeffrey Kang crossed the $1 billion threshold earlier this year before the company’s shares more recently slipped back.
