Limerick Generating Station has new resident inspector

Author

The Limerick Generating Station near Pottstown has a new resident inspector.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia selected Matthew Fannon for the job of monitoring the two-unit site operated by Exelon Corp. in Limerick Township.

Fannon’s job includes periodic testing of plant equipment and systems, monitoring significant work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public, according to the regulatory commission.

Fannon graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering. He’s also a graduate of the regulatory commission’s Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program and has served in the Navy’s nuclear propulsion program for six years.

Scott Rutenkroger, senior resident inspector, also works at the Limerick Generating Station. Each commercial nuclear power plant in the country must have at least two resident inspectors from the regulatory commission.
