Kroll Bond Rating Agency Assigns BBB+/K2 Senior Long-Term and Short-Term Debt Ratings to CoBiz Financial Inc.

Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) has assigned a senior unsecured debt rating of BBB+, a subordinated debt rating of BBB, and short-term rating of K2 to CoBiz Financial Inc. (NASDAQ: COBZ) (“COBZ” or “the Company”), a bank holding company headquartered in Denver, Colorado. In addition, KBRA has assigned a senior deposit rating of A- and short-term rating of K2 to CoBiz Bank (“the Bank”). The outlook on all ratings is stable.

The ratings are supported by COBZ’s strong management and revenue and market diversification as well as its specialized market focus. The rating is also tempered by COBZ’s relatively weak performance during the downturn, although management has taken steps to reduce risk factors associated with this performance including sharply decreasing construction and development exposure.
