Will hire more locally, zero bench policies: Vishal Sikka.

NEW YORK: Infosys is gearing itself to meet the challenges of visa compliance issues in the United States, with new policies in the pipeline that include relying less on H-1B visas to meet labor demands, hiring more workers locally, and to keep zero employees on the bench.
Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka, a US citizen, reiterated the goal of $20 billion in revenues by 2020, addressing shareholders at the Infosys’ 34th Annual General Meeting, in Bengaluru.
Besides the visa-independent delivery strategy, Infosys is also looking at improving its sales effectiveness, quality of proposals and a plan for a zero bench, he said, reported the Financial Express.
Infosys has also refuted press reports that said the US Department of labor (USDOL) is investigating the company, along with Tata Consultancy Services, for misuse of H-1B visas.
Infosys chairman R Seshasayee had recently said in a statement: “The labour department has only done an audit and we have received no communication on any investigation.”
Sikka said at the meeting: “We’re not worried about that (H1B issue) — I’m a US citizen. We have an impregnable compliance to these regulations. We carry that responsibility extremely seriously and I know other companies in the industry do so as well. But increasingly with the power of innovation, we are getting to a point where we need to get less and less dependent on visas and more and more dependent on innovation.”
Infosys is also pushing very strongly into the realm of automation, artificial intelligence, creation of technology platforms and design thinking, according to the Express report. Sikka said it is rapidly implementing these technologies through engagements with clients and its own employees.
Added to this, Infosys also wants to leverage these new technologies both through partnerships with technology start-ups and acquiring companies. Infosys has started to implement these technologies in its key service lines like BPO and infrastructure management.

I get a half dozen emails for job offers from these firms every day, offering low dollar for IT jobs. This is so they can claim that they “offered the job to a US citizen” first, but they clearly have no intention of hiring them. They can then turn around and bring in a low-quality worker from Mumbai for cheap.
They’ve been saying that they’ll start hiring locally for 20 years. Their entire business model is dependent upon the importation of cheap, foreign slaves so I doubt we’ll see any changes anytime soon.
These firms rake in TRILLIONS from their fraudulent and corrupt practices. And, with so much to gain, they will not stop until the bodies of their plutocrats are neatly stacked around the country.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Why is the Infosys jobsite not accessible from IP addresses in the US?
Exactly how do they intend to hire locals in the U.S?
Under all this sweet talk and media hogwash, the company indulges in all kinds of frauds!
