Happy Fourth of July 2015: Best locations to watch the fireworks

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- For those looking to catch a fireworks show in celebration of the Fourth of July on Saturday, here is a guide for the best spots to enjoy the pyrotechnics.

STATEN ISLAND YANKEES

The Richmond County Bank Ballpark, located at 75 Richmond Terrace in St. George, will host a post-game fireworks display following the Staten Island Yankees vs. Hudson Valley Renegades game at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10-$25 at Ticketmaster.com.

MACY'S 4th OF JULY FIREWORKS SHOW

The 39th annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:20 p.m. Fireworks will be launched from the East River and South Street Seaport for the first time since 2008.

Best local spots to watch

  • Alice Austen House and Buono Beach, Rosebank

The museum's slightly elevated front lawn and rocky areas will provide a clear aerial view.

  • The Gateway National Recreational Area, Fort Wadsworth

Fort Wadsworth provides a great view of Manhattan's skyline with plenty of room for viewers to watch the display.

  • The Postcards 9/11 Memorial, St. George

The memorial, located at the St. George Esplanade, is the closest location to the Manhattan. And the Staten Island Ferry's paid parking option alleviates the pressure of having to search for street spots.

  • Near the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, St. George

Just beyond the terminal, before the Richmond County Bank Ballpark, is a spot that will give display-goers a view of the connecting bridges and, of course, the fireworks.

  • Near Lyons Pool, Stapleton

Right outside the Lyons Pool, there is an elevated overpass, which will provide a clear view of the skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge.

CONEY ISLAND'S FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR

Coney Island's second annual July 4th Fireworks Spectacular will launch off the beach near Steeplechase Pier, and is scheduled to begin at 9:45 p.m.

Best local spots to watch

  • The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Board Walk, South Beach

The two-and-a-half-mile boardwalk, parallel to the display's launch site, will offer a view of the show, plenty of space and free parking at various lots alongside Father Capodanno Boulevard.

  • The Gateway National Recreational Area, Fort Wadsworth

In addition to a great view of the Verrazano and Manhattan's skyline, Fort Wadsworth will provide an aerial view of the Coney Island display.
