Prime Time Funk will celebrate 19 years together with a special show at Lovin’ Cup Bistro & Brews starting at 8:30 p.m. May 2 at 300 Park Point Drive, Rochester.

Formed in 1996 by James Richmond and the late Ralph Ortiz, the 10-piece band has been the official house band of the Rochester Music Hall of Fame annual awards ceremonies in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre since the event began in 2012, and the band will participate again at the April 26 awards ceremony.

Recently, PRF keyboardist Andy Calabrese was mentioned on a recent episode of “The Charlie Rose Show” on PBS as an important early influence by jazz pianist and Fairport native Vijay Iyer, a 2014 Xerox International Jazz Festival artist.

Admission is $10 to the two-set show at Lovin’ Cup Bistro & Brews. For more information, visit primetimefunk.com.
