Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT) Jumped To A 3-Week High On Q3 Results

Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT) reported third quarter adjusted EPS of $0.28 after the bell Thursday, up from $0.18 last year. Analysts expected EPS of $0.27. Fourth quarter EPS is expected to be between $0.25 and $0.29, compared to the consensus estimate of $0.26.

Applied Materials gapped open sharply higher Friday morning, but was range-bound throughout the session. The stock closed up by 1.33 at $22.48 on above average volume. Applied Materials jumped to a 3-week high and re-crossed its 50-day moving average.
