A company headquartered in North Carolina has made a recent list of “America’s Most Hated Companies.”

247wallst.com posted the article earlier this week. The website said they identified the companies by reviewing various metrics on customer service, employee satisfaction and share price performance.

“To be truly hated, a company must alienate a large number of people,” according to the website. “It may irritate consumers with bad customer service, upset employees by paying low wages, and disappoint Wall Street with underwhelming returns.”

The Bank of America Corporation, headquartered in Charlotte, took the number five spot. The website claims the bank got the highest share of poor reviews of any business in Zogby Analytics’ 2014 customer service survey.

“Fair or not, Bank of America remains deeply unpopular. The banking giant received an ACSI score of just 69, well below the industry average of 76, and an indicator that customers are highly unsatisfied with the bank,” according to the article.

General Motors topped the list, followed by Sony, DISH Network and McDonald’s.
