FuelCell adds banker as new director

Danbury clean energy manufacturer FuelCell Energy has selected a former executive of Citigroup and Bank of America to join its board of directors.

Natica von Althann, 64, served as Citi’s division executive in Latin America during her 26 years with the company and as Bank of America’s senior credit risk management executive. She also currently serves on the board of the Pennsylvania utility PPL Corp.

In December, FuelCell’s James Gerson ended his 22-year relationship with the company, including resigning from its board, by blasting the firm in his departure letter, saying the executives ignored his concern over a lack of American sales.

In addition to her role on the board, von Althann will be a member of FuelCell’s Audit & Finance Committee and its Compensation Committee.
