In the midst of a heat wave, thousands of Southern California Edison customers lost power Wednesday in and around the Uptown Whittier area, Southern California Edison officials said.
Around 10:43 a.m., 2,350 businesses and households were without power for nearly two hours, Edison spokeswoman Susan Cox said. Power was restored at 12:23 p.m.
“Service has been restored to all but one customer,” Cox said in a phone call at 1 p.m.
The areas affected were north of Beverly Boulevard, east of Worsham Drive, south of Tenn Street and west of Whittier Boulevard.
The cause is undetermined.
