Ravi Kumar, Senior Principal and Head of Advanced Engineering Group, Infosys, has been confirmed as a speaker in the Vehicle Lightweighting Session at Automotive Megatrends USA 2015, which takes place on 17 March 2015.

Kumar has 24 years of research and industrial experience in Aerospace. His areas of interest include Aircraft Structures, Knowledge Based Engineering, Composites and Integrated Vehicle Health Monitoring (IVHM).

He is the author of more than 35 technical papers in various journals, conferences and other external forums, and also has a filed patent to his credit. He has worked on various prestigious engineering design and development programmes, including Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) tool development projects for both military and commercial aircraft programmes.

He is one of the core developers of the design integrated virtual manufacturing software system for composites (AUTOLAY/CADDS-Composites). Kumar is involved in development of various light weight structural concepts using advanced composites and re-engineering of metallic components into composites. He is also involved in the development of proof of concepts for both structural and system health monitoring in aerospace, as well as in the implementation of diagnostic and prognostics algorithms for engineering applications.

Prior to joining Infosys, he worked in Tata Research Design and Development Center (TRDDC), Pune, and Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), Bangalore.
